Vincent brought this to dinner.
The original and still the best
[Categories Spain, Rioja, Tempranillo]
A pleasant find – a dinner party guest bring – from South West Spain in the DO Ribera del Guadiana
Yes another potable selection for M&S
Nice Valentine’s Meal deal too!
Raw berries, typical Oaked Tempranillo from Rioja.
This was a solid offering from Dunnes @ €7.50 and you can read the winemakers notes here:
Perfectly acceptable, fruity and smooth Spanish number, I would considering serving the next one chilled in this weather.
€11 marked down to €9 in a Dunnes Saver Deal.
Big fans: we prefer this standard table wine to the more expensive Campo Reserva: delicious, dry, distinctive oak taste.
This goes with anything for any occasion.
Oakey Tempranillo from Miguel Torres who produce consistently acceptable quality wines.
Not as big a Rioja bang as I’d expected. Apparently, this is their first Rioja – with Torres notes here.
So perhaps a little more to do to bring it up to Torres benchmark.
