From Aldi, been looking forward to this. For the money very quaffable.
£3.99, €6.39 here so not unreasonable price comparison given our brutal wine tax..
The Mirror Wine Correspondent described this in their article:
This was unexpected for the money; really nice, fresh fruit with a lovely clear taste.
€7.64 on offer in O’Briens.

The very smooth Long Eared Owl.
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah.
We offered this to the Collets and Calders at Dinner.
Sean like it. So did I, lovely mouth feel, slightly sweet fruit with a spicy hint.

O’Briens, €15.99, now €11.99
We also served the reliable La Baume Sauvignon blanc
I though this average. Ribenaesque colour, Bland fruit, dry.
Perhaps I didn’t serve it warm enough.

Dad brought this some time ago and it had been sitting silently on the top shelf in the fridge – a delicious aperitif for The Barranore’s last supper and we were also joined for dinner by Amy & Ross.
100% Glera (the EU name for Prosecco) picked from vines near Treviso.
Pale grass colour, lively nutty nose, taste of aniseed and fruit, very crisp clean fizz.
“Harmonious Emotions” for sure. More info here.
