La Croisade, Reserve Sauvignon Blanc, 2011, Unoaked, Cotes de Gascogne

This is a Superquinn Special and I liked the fact that this was unoaked.

Citrusy – but not tropical – notes.

Other reviewers have described this as a Kiwi Style Sauvignon.

Not so, a bit too fruity and flabby for my own taste Crusade. Though good value on sale as a drinks party wine.

Campo Viejo Reserva 2007 Rioja

Campo Viejo Rioja Reserva 2007 F (Small) Campo Viejo Rioja Reserva 2007 B (Small)

A family favourite. Tempranillo mainly. Distinctive. We actually prefer the simplicity of the standard Campo table wine as it’s nothing pretentious, though the Reserva – aged for 12 months longer in Oak – is always welcome. We presented this to the Geraghty’s: Erin, Simon, Stella & Leslie when they came to Dinner accompanied by Amy & Ross. We also enjoyed the Domaine Duffour Cotes de Gascogne 2012.
