An inoffensive, light claret.
Not sure how we came across though I do remember seeing it on Peploes wine list and Tesco also stock it
– but I can’t find out much more about it, nor Chateau Rouquette.
From the Languedoc, though the label suggests it was blended and bottled by Les Grands Chais de France at Landiras in Bordeaux where it also blends Calvet.
Purple hue, nice fruit, dry mouthfeel.
We enjoyed it.
I see this on regular offer in Dunnes.
One from the stable that Barry presented at Christmas. Really enjoyed this; big black cherry and a little oak to deliver a well-crafted wine. Nice refined blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet-franc. Good balance between the red and the black fruit.
